Lesson Twenty-Two

The Fox Divides the Cheese

1. Older Brother Bear and Younger Brother Bear were very happy when they found a piece of cheese on the road.

2. However, they didn't know how to divide the cheese, and the little brothers started to quarrel.

3. At this moment, a fox ran over.

4. “Little guys, what are you arguing about?”

5. the fox asked.

6. “We have a piece of cheese and don't know how to divide it,”

7. Younger Brother Bear said to the fox.

8. “That’s easy! Let me help you divide it.”

9. The fox smiled, took the cheese, and broke it in half.

10.”You have not divided it evenly!”

11. the little brothers yelled. “That half is bigger!”

12. The fox took a close look at the broken cheese and said, "Yes, this half is a bit bigger.

13. Don’t worry, watch this….”

14. After speaking, he took a bite of the bigger half.

15. “But the half that I haven't bitten is a bit bigger now!”

16. The two bears cried again.

17. So the fox took a bite of that half, but then the first half was a little bigger.

18.The fox continued biting the two halves of cheese this way.

19. He kept taking bites until eventually all the cheese was eaten up.

20. “You really know how to divide it!”

21. The two bears were angry, “You have eaten up the whole cheese!”

22. “Little Bears, I have divided it equally!”

23. The fox smiled and said, “Neither of you had a bite more or a bite less.”

3.这时有只狐狸跑了过来。

4.“小家伙们，你们吵什么呀？”

5.狐狸问道。

6.“我们有块奶酪，不知道该怎么分。”

7.熊弟弟对狐狸说。

8.“这事好办，我来帮你们分吧！”

9.狐狸笑了笑，把奶酪拿过来掰成了两半。

10.“你分得不匀！”

11.小哥儿俩嚷着，“那半块大一点儿。

12.狐狸仔细瞧了瞧掰开的奶酪，说：“真的，这半块是大一点儿。

13.你们别急，看我的——”

14.说着便在大的这半块上咬了一口。

15.“可是现在没咬过的那半块又大了一点儿！”

16.两只小熊又嚷了起来。

17.于是，狐狸在那半块上咬了一口，结果第一个半块又大了点儿。

18.狐狸就这样不停地咬着两半块奶酪。

19.咬着咬着，奶酪全被他吃光了，一点儿也没剩下。

20.“你可真会分！”

21.两只小熊生气了，“整块奶酪都被你吃光了！”

22.“小熊，我分得可公平啦！”

23.狐狸笑着说，“你们谁也没多吃一口，谁也没少吃一口。”
