Lesson Twenty

The Baby Snowman

1. Snow continued to fall for several days.

2.This morning, the sky was clear, and Mother Rabbit was going out.

3.The little white rabbit yelled: “Mom, mom, I want to go too!”

4. Mother Rabbit said: “Good boy, your mother has something to do and you can't come along.”

5. Mother Rabbit made a baby snowman for the little white rabbit on the open ground outside their house.

6. The little white rabbit had this friend, so he didn’t go with his mother.

7. The little white rabbit danced and sang to the baby snowman.

8. When he got tired of playing, he went home and took a nap.

9. “It's really cold in the house. I had better hurry up and add some wood to the fire!”

10. The little white rabbit added some firewood and soon had a raging fire. The house gradually became warmer.

11. He lay on the bed, closed his eyes, and fell asleep after a while.

13. Oh no! The woodpile next to the fire caught on fire!

14. The little white rabbit was sleeping so soundly that he was totally unaware of the accident.

16. As the baby snowman saw the black smoke rising and fire sparks bursting out of the window of the Little White Rabbit's house, it shouted and ran towards its friend.

19. The baby snowman rushed into the house at the risk of choking smoke and burning fire, searched around, and finally found the little white rabbit.

20. He quickly picked up the little white rabbit and ran outside the house.

22. Just then, little monkeys and hedgehogs from the forest all came to fight the fire.

26. The little animals said, “You should express gratitude to the one who saved him!”

27. By this time, the baby snowman who rescued the little white rabbit had already disappeared.

16.雪孩子看见从小白兔家的窗户里冒出黑烟，蹿出火星，他一边喊，一边向小白兔家奔去。

17.“小白兔，小白兔！

18.你在哪里？”

19.雪孩子冲进屋里，冒着呛人的烟、烫人的火，找哇找哇，终于找到了小白兔。

20.他连忙把小白兔抱起来，跑到屋外。

21.小白兔得救了，雪孩子却浑身水淋淋的。

22.这时候，树林里的小猴子、小刺猬都赶来救火了。

23.不一会儿，大家就把火扑灭了。

24.兔妈妈回来了，激动地说：“谢谢大家救火，救了小白兔，谢谢大家！”

25.“咦，是谁救了小白兔？”

26.小动物们都说，“真得谢谢他呢！”

27.这时，救小白兔的雪孩子不见了。

28.他已经化成水了。

29.不，雪孩子还在呢！

30.瞧，太阳晒着晒着，他变成了很轻很轻的水汽。

31.飞呀，飞呀，飞上天空，变成了一朵白云，一朵美丽的白云。
