Lesson One

Little Tadpoles Looking for Their Mother

1.A group of small tadpoles with big heads, dark-gray bodies and long swinging tails were swimming happily in the pond.

2.The little tadpoles swam on, and two hind legs grew on their body a few days later.

3.When they saw a mother carp teaching her little carp to hunt, they greeted her and asked: “Auntie Carp, where is our mother?”

4.The carp mother said: “Your mother has four legs and a wide mouth. You can find her over there!”

5.The little tadpoles swam on, and two front legs grew on their body a few days later.

6.They saw a tortoise swimming in the water swinging its four legs, and they hurried to catch up, shouting: “Mom, mom!”

7.The mother tortoise smiled and said: “I am not your mother.

8.Your mother has two big eyes on the top of her head, and she is wearing green clothes.

9.You can find her over there!’

10. The little tadpoles swam on, and after a few days, their tail became shorter.

11. They swam close to the lotus and saw a big frog squatting on the leaf, dressed in green clothes, with a white belly and big eyes.

12. The little tadpoles swam over and shouted: “Mom, mom!”

13. The mother frog looked down and said with a smile: “Good boys, you have grown into frogs. Jump up here!”

14. They kicked their hind legs, and jumped forward onto the lotus leaf.

15. At some unknown time, the tails of these little frogs were gone.

16. They followed their mother to catch pests every day.

6.他们看见一只乌龟摆动着四条腿在水里游，连忙追上去，叫着：“妈妈，妈妈！”

7.乌龟笑着说：“我不是你们的妈妈。

8.你们的妈妈头顶上有两只大眼睛，披着绿衣裳。

9.你们到那边去找吧！”

10.小蝌蚪游哇游，过了几天，尾巴变短了。

11.他们游到荷花旁边，看见荷叶上蹲着一只大青蛙，披着碧绿的衣裳，露着雪白的肚皮，鼓着一对大眼睛。

12.小蝌蚪游过去，叫着：“妈妈，妈妈！”

13.青蛙妈妈低头一看，笑着说：“好孩子，你们已经长成青蛙了，快跳上来吧！”

14.他们后腿一蹬，向前一跳，蹦到了荷叶上。

15.不知什么时候，小青蛙的尾巴已经不见了。

16.他们跟着妈妈，天天去捉害虫。
