Looking for Signs of Spring

1. Spring is here! Spring is here!

2. Leaving our padded thick jackets behind, we children rush out of the house and dash into the fields, looking for signs of spring.

3. Spring is like a shy little girl, playing hide-and-seek with us.

4. We look carefully for signs of spring, here and there.

5. The small spears of grass rising out of the ground, aren't they the eyebrows of spring?

6. The two scattered wildflowers blooming early in the wind, aren't they the eyes of spring?

7. The trees bursting out with tender buds, aren't they the notes of spring?

8. The frozen creek thawing, tinkling as it melts, isn't that the music of spring?

9. Spring is here!

10. We have seen her, we have heard her, we have smelled her, we have touched her.

11. She swings on the willow branches and sways on the tail of the kite. She sings through the mouths of magpies and cuckoos, and she smiles through the branches of peach and apricot blossoms.
