Lesson Twenty

The Spider Opens a Store

1.There was a spider squatting on his web every day, waiting for bugs to fall onto it. He felt so lonely and bored.

2.One day, he decided to open a store.

3.What should he sell?

4.He decided to sell face masks since they were easy to knit.

5.So, the spider hung a sign outside a cabin which read: “ Face masks for sale, only one yuan.”

6.A customer came; it was a hippo.

7.The hippo had a long mouth, so it was difficult to knit a face mask for him. The spider spent the whole day working and finally finished the mask.

8.That night, the spider thought: “Perhaps I should sell scarves, because they are easy to knit.”

9.The next day, the spider's sign was changed to “scarves for sale, only one yuan.”

10.A customer came, but the spider could not see his head.

11.The spider looked up. It turned out to be a giraffe. His neck was as tall as a tree. His head popped out from among the leaves, and he smiled at the spider.

12. The spider spent a whole week knitting the long, long scarf.

13.The spider was so tired that he fell to the ground and thought: “Perhaps I should sell socks, because they are easy to knit”

14. The next day, the spider's sign was changed again. This time it read: “Socks for sale, only one yuan.”

15. However, when the spider saw a customer, he hurried back to his web in fright.

16. It turned out that the customer was a centipede with forty-two feet!

蜘蛛开店

1.有一只蜘蛛,每天蹲在网上等着小飞虫落在上面,好寂寞,好无聊啊。

2. 蜘蛛决定开一家商店。

3.卖什么呢?

4.就卖口罩吧,因为口罩织起来很简单。

5.于是,蜘蛛在一间小木屋外面挂了一个招牌,上面写着:“口罩编织店,每位顾客只需一元钱。”

6.顾客来了,是一只河马。

7.河马嘴巴那么长,口罩好难织啊,蜘蛛用了一整天的工夫,终于织完了。

8.晚上,蜘蛛想:还是卖围巾吧,因为围巾织起来很简单。

9.第二天,蜘蛛的招牌换了,上面写着:“围巾编织店,每位顾客只需一元钱。”

10.顾客来了,只见身子不见头。

11.蜘蛛向上一看,原来是一只长鹿,他的脖子和大树一样高,脑袋从树叶间露出来,正对着蜘蛛笑呢。

12.蜘蛛织啊织,足足忙了一个星期,才织完那条长长的围巾。

13.蜘蛛累得趴倒在地上,心里想:还是卖袜子吧,因为袜子织起来很简单。

14.第二天,蜘蛛的招牌又换了,上面写着:“袜子编织店,每位顾客只需一元钱。”

15.可是,蜘蛛看到顾客后,却吓得匆忙跑回网上。

16.原来那位顾客竟是一条四十二只脚的蜈蚣!
